Advocacy Program

Our victim advocates provide a multitude of services to help victims and witnesses recover from the trauma of crime and to guide them through the criminal justice systems. These include providing information about Arizona's Crime Victims' Rights; court escort for victims and their families; transportation to and from court; referrals for emergency shelter; referrals for emergency food and/or clothing; employer mediation, as well as many other services. Services are provided to any individual or group that is a victim of a crime within Coconino County.

Advocates are available at every step of the criminal justice system, from crisis response, through the investigation, and the entire judicial process from initial appearance to sentencing.  They can assist in keeping a victim updated, explaining what happens at each step of the process, advocate for what the victim wants, attend court appearances with a victim or on their behalf, and assist victims with meeting personal needs through community referrals.
