Associate Director for Advocacy Services
Employment Application with Victim Advocate Supplemental
Nature of Work: Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, manages the victim/witness advocacy and crisis response programs to include supervising a staff of professional advocates. Works to develop, coordinate, and strengthen the services available to victims of crime; assists with grant reporting and other financial related duties, engages in community outreach, performs related duties as required or assigned.
Typical Duties: Assists the Executive Director; trains, supervises and evaluates victim advocates and the volunteer program coordinator; works with law enforcement, the courts, social and victim services to develop programs responding to the needs of victims; attends trainings and meetings, and serves on committees necessary for the promotion of a coordinated community, law enforcement, and prosecutorial response to crime victims; oversees placement and supervision of student interns assigned to the agency; tracks numbers and demographics of victims served and services provided; inputs data into a software program (DAMION); participates in the preparation of statistical reports and program evaluations; prepares correspondence and other memoranda; participates in public awareness and outreach activities countywide; addresses community organizations and groups to explain the objectives of the Victim/Witness Program.

ü Arizona Victims’ Rights Act
ü community resources
ü the operation of modern office equipment including computers and computer software
ü business English, spelling, math, punctuation & grammar
ü file and records maintenance
Ability to:
ü While working independently, establish & maintain effective working relationships with other Victim/Witness employees, the general public, and colleagues from other agencies;
ü follow written & verbal instructions;
ü communicate effectively verbally & in writing;
ü deal impartially with individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic & cultural backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in social work, victim/witness advocacy, program coordination and/or development, or community organization is required. Minimum of three (3) years supervisory and/or managerial experience is also required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license and have reliable transportation; must be available to travel throughout Coconino County; must be available for on-call pager hours; Spanish helpful.
Salary: $42,500 - $45,800 yearly. This is an EXEMPT position; not eligible for overtime compensation.
